The main worship service in the modern Episcopal Church is Holy Eucharist (also called Holy Communion or Mass). At St. Mary's we celebrate Holy Eucharist every Sunday at 10 am. The feel and structure of the service changes with the liturgical season, and we use the full range of authorized eucharistic prayers.
During Lent we have added a Service of Healing Prayers and Holy Communion on Thursdays at 12:15 pm. This is in the round, and we are using a method of deep listening and group reflection on the Gospel instead of a sermon. If you are ill, you will be invited to receive laying-on of hands and anointing for healing.
Holy Week. On Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010, we will be processing into the church with palm branches. The Maundy Thursday service, on April 1, 2010, is at 3:30 pm. On Good Friday, April 2, our service is at 12 noon.
Easter Sunday, April 4, the service is, as usual, at 10 am. But it will be far from "church as usual." We will welcome soprano Lee Hopkins and alto Nancy Culolias, who will add special musical anthems to the joyous service.
